Regular Season Round 6: Falcon - Stevnsgade 45-73

The game in Falcon supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Stevnsgade (5-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Falcon (3-4). Stevnsgade smashed Falcon 73-45 on Saturday. The game without a history. Stevnsgade led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Falcon to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.7 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Stevnsgade outrebounded Falcon 41-26 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Julie Forster (183-91, college: Albany) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and the other American import forward Sarah Eichler (180-91, college: Green Bay) supported her with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Even 9 points by guard Sofie Vincents (174-87) did not help to save the game for Falcon. Guard Elisabeth Hansen (176-93) added 8 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Stevnsgade maintains third position with 5-1 record having just three points less than leader SISU. Loser Falcon dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Stevnsgade will meet at home bottom-ranked Virum (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Falcon will play against Horsholm (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
