Regular Season Round 4: Usak - Mersin 81-71

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Mersin (1-3) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Usak (3-1) 81-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Usak. Mersin managed to win fourth quarter 21-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mersin 43-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) produced 19 points and naturalized American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Mersin players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Usak have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Mersin keeps the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Usak will meet Anadolu Efes (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Mersin will play against TED Kolejliler and hope to win that game.
