The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Neftochimic as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Neftochimic defeated 3rd ranked Haskovo 2012 in Burgas 74-69 in overtime. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-18. But Haskovo 2012 won second period 12-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Haskovo 2012 used huge pressure winning it 14-11 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 3-8. Neftochimic brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Carolyn Davis (190-91, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds and guard Lauren Bell (172-90, college: Pepperdine) who added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Bjonee Reaves (168-90, college: Cincinnati) responded with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Kenya McBee (192-83) scored 6 points and 22 rebounds. Neftochimic have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Haskovo 2012 at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Montana 2003. Haskovo 2012 will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Neftochimic will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Levski at Sofia.
