Regular Season Round 6: Final Genclik - Ankara DSI Era 83-97

Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Final Genclik (2-4) lost to fourth ranked Ankara DSI Era (4-2) in Bursa 83-97 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 14 points. Ankara DSI Era outrebounded Final Genclik 40-24 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. point guard Erdem Ilter (188-90) replied with 25 points and American guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St.) added 22 points and 4 assists in the effort for Final Genclik. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ankara DSI Era have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Final Genclik dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Ankara DSI Era will face Pertevniyal (#13) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Final Genclik will play on the road against Maliye Milli in Ankara and hope to win that game.
