Regular Season Round 5: Azovmash - Ferro-ZNTU 81-58

The game between fifth ranked Azovmash (3-1) and 6th ranked Ferro-ZNTU (3-2) in Mariupol on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Azovmash outscored guests from Zaporozhye 81-58. The game without a history. Azovmash led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Ferro-ZNTU's 30. They outrebounded Ferro-ZNTU 44-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. Azovmash looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Australian-Dutch power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Kyryl Natyazhko (207-90, college: Arizona, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Artem Butskyy (186-81, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Anthony Marshall (190-91, college: UNLV) added 20 points in the effort for Ferro-ZNTU. Ferro-ZNTU's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Azovmash have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Ferro-ZNTU dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Azovmash will face Cherkasy (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ferro-ZNTU will play against the league's second-placed Khimik (#2) in Yuzhny and hope to win that game.
