Regular Season Round 6: Antalya - Balikesir 58-59

A very interesting game took place in Antalya. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 12th ranked Antalya (2-4) to fifth ranked Balikesir (4-2) 59-58 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Antalya was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 21-17 charge of Balikesir, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Antalya to just 6 points in second quarter. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was point guard D.J. Thompson (173-85, college: Appalachian St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Juan Pattillo (201-88, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Henry Antwan Dobie (183-78, college: LIU Brooklyn) who recorded 19 points and 4 assists and forward Damien Kinloch (203-80, college: Tenn Tech) added 12 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Balikesir moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Antalya at the other side keeps the twelfth position with four games lost. Balikesir's next round opponent will be Pamukkale (#7) at home. Antalya will play against ITU Istanbul (#8) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the TBL just one year after relegation.
