There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (2-4) beat higher ranked Pertevniyal (2-4) in Istanbul 69-62 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 35-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Bandirma Kir. dominated on the defensive end, holding Pertevniyal to just 7 points in third quarter. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Pertevniyal was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Mert Ciner (202-95) who led his team to a victory with 19 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Bandirma Kir. moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Pertevniyal. Bandirma Kir. will face Istanbul DSI (#17) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
