Regular Season Round 5: Mykolaiv - BC Donetsk 71-86

Superleague top team - BC Donetsk (4-0) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Mykolaiv (1-3) 86-71. The game was mostly controlled by BC Donetsk. Mykolaiv managed to win third quarter 25-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Donetsk dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Mykolaiv's 36. American power forward Marco Killingsworth (203-82, college: Indiana) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five BC Donetsk players scored in double figures. Latvian swingman Zanis Peiners (203-90) answered with 19 points and 4 assists and Croatian power forward Mateo Kedzo (206-84) added 17 points in the effort for Mykolaiv. Mykolaiv's coach Agris Galvanovskis rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Donetsk have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Mykolaiv at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. They share it with Dnipro and Cherkasy. BC Donetsk are looking forward to face Hoverla (#3) in Frankivsk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Mykolaiv will play on the road against Dnipro (#12) in Dnepropetrovsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
