Regular Season Round 7: Stevnsgade - Virum 77-54

Bottom-ranked Virum (0-7) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to third ranked Stevnsgade (6-1) 77-54 on Friday evening. The hosts trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 23 points. Stevnsgade dominated on the defensive end, holding Virum to just 7 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Virum's 28. They outrebounded Virum 50-12 including a 23-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Julie Forster (183-91, college: Albany) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 32 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Her fellow American import forward Sarah Eichler (180-91, college: Green Bay) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Ivana Kostic (177-85) produced 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Cecilie Klussmann added 16 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Stevnsgade. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Amager. Virum lost their seventh game in a row. Virum at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Vaerlose. Stevnsgade will meet at home league's second-placed Amager in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Virum will play against Vaerlose (#9) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
