Regular Season Round 4: Dnepr - NEMO Odessa 86-61

Undefeated NEMO Odessa (2-1) recorded its first loss in Dnepropetrovsk. Visitors were rolled over by ninth ranked Dnepr (3-2) 86-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of NEMO Odessa. It was a key game for the second position in the league. NEMO Odessa was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 54-27 second half run of Dnepr. They also forced 22 NEMO Odessa turnovers and outrebounded them 39-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by Volodymyr Shevchenko (196-94) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Maksym Zakurdarev (193-93) supported him with 21 points and 5 steals. Four Dnepr players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by the former international guard Bogdan Karebin (201-78, college: Buffalo) did not help to save the game for NEMO Odessa. Forward Oleksandr Gudkov (204-90) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dnepr moved-up to second place. NEMO Odessa at the other side dropped to the eighth position with one game lost. Dnepr will play against BK Kremen (#10) in Kremenchuk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NEMO Odessa will play on the road against Koksokh-Stal in Alchevsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
