Very important is a road loss of third ranked Goettingen (4-3) against fourth ranked SG BBZ Opladen (5-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Goettingen was defeated by SG BBZ Opladen in a tough game in Leverkusen 58-64. Goettingen was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 22-13 charge of SG BBZ Opladen, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for center Marie Gulich (194-94) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Center Mareike Nettersheim (186) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Rickiesha Bryant (190-90, college: Tenn-Martin) came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds and Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (183-90) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Goettingen in the defeat. Goettingen's coach Jennifer Kerns rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SG BBZ Opladen moved-up to second place in North. Goettingen at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Krofdorf/Gleib. and Gruenberg. SG BBZ Opladen will play against Hannover (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Goettingen will play against Krofdorf/Gleib. (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
