Palanga can celebrate finally their first win this season after eight consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Vilnius-MRU (4-6) 79-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 23-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Erikas Kubilius (192-95) had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Rytis Biliartas (200-91) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Palanga players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and forward Tadas Padegimas (203-90) scored 14 points. Palanga maintains fifteenth position with 1-8 record. Loser Vilnius-MRU dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Suduva-Mantinga. Palanga will meet higher ranked Suduva-Mantinga (#11) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vilnius-MRU will have a break next round.
