Regular Season Round 7: Concordia - Timba Timis. 75-71

Concordia has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Timba Timosoara (1-6) 75-71 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Timba Timosoara won third quarter 13-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Concordia won last quarter 22-20. 29 personal fouls committed by Timba Timosoara helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Serbian guard Nemanja Petrovic (192-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Serbian forward Aleksandar Vuletic (202-86, college: Indian Hills CC) helped adding 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Concordia players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Kevin Bridgewaters (179-84, college: Chattanooga, agency: FCM) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Concordia left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with Timba Timis. It was Timba Timosoara's fifth loss in a row. Concordia is looking forward to face higher ranked Steaua CSM (#10) in Bucuresti in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Timba Timosoara will play on the road against Craiova and is hoping to win this game.
