Regular Season Round 7: Ankara DSI Era - Pertevniyal 75-82

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Ankara DSI Era (4-3) against thirteenth ranked Pertevniyal (3-4) on Saturday night. Host Ankara DSI Era was defeated by Pertevniyal in a tough game in Ankara 75-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ankara DSI Era. Ankara DSI Era was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 22-11 charge of Pertevniyal, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for forward Okben Ulubay (200-97) who led the winners and scored 38 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Pertevniyal's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Hakan Erol (200-83, agency: Ali Guney BA) came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Ankara DSI Era in the defeat. Pertevniyal moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Ankara DSI Era dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Pertevniyal will play against bottom-ranked Maliye Milli (#18) in Ankara in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ankara DSI Era will play on the road against Istanbul DSI (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
