Regular Season Round 8: Art.Dragons - TBB Trier 76-67

Date: November 9, 2013
No shocking result in a game in Quakenbrueck where second ranked Artland Dragons (7-1) defeated 12th ranked TBB Trier (3-5) 76-67 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TBB Trier won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Artland Dragons forced 22 TBB Trier turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Artland Dragons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The best player for the winners was American-Cypriot power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) who scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Chad Toppert (199-85, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 15 points. American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (184-87, college: Wisconsin) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and Canadian-Jamaican guard Jermaine Anderson (188-83, college: Fordham) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Artland Dragons have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with B.Muenchen and Telekom Bsk. Loser TBB Trier dropped to the eleventh place with five games lost. Artland Dragons will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#12) in Frankfurt in the next round which should be an easy win for them. TBB Trier will play at home against Phoenix Hagen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
