Regular Season Round 9: Goettingen - Karlsruhe 85-64

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked BG Goettingen as it allowed them to take a leadership position. BG Goettingen smashed 14th ranked BG Karlsruhe at home 85-64. The game without a history. BG Goettingen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for American guard Alex Ruoff (198-86, college: W.Virginia) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jermaine Mallett (190-88, college: Missouri St., agency: Interperformances) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Tim Schwartz (197-87) answered with 15 points and American center Jeremy Black (203-85, college: Tampa, agency: Court Side) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for BG Karlsruhe. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. BG Karlsruhe lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth place with seven games lost. BG Karlsruhe will play next round against Oettinger Rockets Gotha trying to get back on the winning streak. BG Goettingen will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Kirchheim Knights on the road.
