Regular Season Round 9: Crailsheim - NBC 112-84
Date: November 9, 2013
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (6-2) crushed at home 9th ranked NBC (3-5) 112-84 on Saturday. The game without a history. Crailsheim Merlins led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Crailsheim Merlins looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for naturalized American forward Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Stevie Johnson (198-78, college: Iowa St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Michael Fleischmann (205-86) answered with 18 points and American center Robert Lewandowski (208-89, college: Texas Tech) added 14 points in the effort for NBC. Four Crailsheim Merlins and five NBC players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Crailsheim Merlins have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. NBC lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will face Science City Jena (#5) on the road in the next round. NBC will play against Bayer Giants (#16) and hope to win that game.
