Regular Season Round 7: Balikesir - Pamukkale 67-50

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Balikesir and 7th ranked Pamukkale had identical 4-2 record. This time Balikesir used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Pamukkale 67-50 on Saturday night. Balikesir forced 20 Pamukkale turnovers. American forward Juan Pattillo (201-88, college: W.Kentucky) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. His fellow American import point guard D.J. Thompson (173-85, college: Appalachian St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Four Balikesir players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Ulug Kacaniku (202-85) produced 13 points and guard Mehmet Yatagan (192-93) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Balikesir have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Loser Pamukkale dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Balikesir will meet Final Genclik (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pamukkale will play against ITU Istanbul (#13) and hope to secure a win.
