Regular Season Round 7: Horsholm - Falcon 71-62

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Falcon (3-5) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Horsholm (5-2) 71-62. It looked good early as Falcon took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Horsholm had a 17-14 second period charge getting the lead and Falcon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-71. They outrebounded Falcon 35-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian power forward Ivana Jovanovic (185-85) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws). Swingman Maja Gerlyng-Hansen (180-88, college: Siena) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Horsholm's coach Nemanja Jovanovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Elisabeth Hansen (176-93) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds and guard Marie Gadeberg (180-94) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Falcon. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Horsholm. They maintain fourth place with 5-2 record. Falcon lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Horsholm's next round opponent will be Aabyhoj (#6) at home.
