CAB Madeira can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Alges, where they defeated Alges (2-3) 61-50 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 61-50. CAB Madeira dominated on the defensive end, holding Alges to just 6 points in second quarter. Alges' coach Manuel Povea rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. CAB Madeira maintains ninth position with 1-5 record. It was Alges' third loss in a row. Defending champion dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with GDESSA. CAB Madeira will meet at home higher ranked Uniao Sportiva (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Alges will have a break next round.
