The game in Zaporozhye was also quite interesting. 5th ranked SC Kryvbas (3-2) played at the court of sixth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (3-2). Ferro-ZNTU managed to secure a 6-point victory 78-72 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SC Kryvbas. SC Kryvbas were trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 25-14 charge of Ferro-ZNTU, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Anthony Marshall (190-91, college: UNLV) nailed 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) accounted for 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Ferro-ZNTU players scored in double figures. American forward Herb Pope (203-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: Three Eye Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and forward Vitali Malchevskiy (204-87) added 13 points respectively for SC Kryvbas in the defeat. SC Kryvbas' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ferro-ZNTU moved-up to fifth place, which they share with BC Odessa and SC Kryvbas. Ferro-ZNTU will meet league's second-placed Khimik in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SC Kryvbas will play against Budivelnyk and hope to secure a win.
