Regular Season Round 5: Levski - Neftochimic 82-91

Very significant was Neftochimic's (#1, 4-0) victory against second-ranked Levski (3-2) 91-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Levski. Levski trailed by 15 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 18-11 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 82-91 at the end of the game. Neftochimic outrebounded Levski 42-20 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Carolyn Davis (190-91, college: Kansas) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and the former international forward Maria Zhelyazkova (181-86, agency: Promotex) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) responded with 33 points (!!!), 6 assists and 5 steals and international forward Hristina Ivanova (183-89) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Neftochimic have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Levski at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Montana 2003. Neftochimic are looking forward to face league's second-placed Dunav 8806 in Ruse in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levski will play on the road against Haskovo 2012 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
