Regular Season Round 7: Viernheim - Jahn Muenchen 69-64

There was no surprise in Viernheim where 11th ranked Friendsfactory Germering (1-6) was defeated by sixth ranked TSV Amicitia (4-3) 69-64 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-64. TSV Amicitia outrebounded Friendsfactory Germering 39-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Alysa Horn (182-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Sidney Parsons (168-87, college: Bridgeport) helped adding 18 points. Four TSV Amicitia players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Jezabel Ohanian (170-77) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Nicole Schmidt (168-89) scored 20 points. TSV Amicitia moved-up to third place in South, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Friendsfactory Germering keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. TSV Amicitia will face TG 1889 Sandhausen (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Friendsfactory Germering will play against ASC Theresianum Mainz and hope to win that game.
