Regular Season Round 7: Nevezis - Juventus 81-88

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Nevezis (5-1) in Kedainiai on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Juventus (3-5) 88-81. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Nevezis. Juventus dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 30. 24 personal fouls committed by Nevezis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American forward AJ Matthews (216-89, college: Farmingdale St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Keyron Sheard (188-86, college: Chattanooga) helped adding 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side American point guard Tyrone Brazelton (186-86, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Higher Vision Sports) responded with 21 points and 4 steals and forward Vilmantas Dilys (208-87, agency: Interperformances) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Five Juventus and four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Juventus moved-up to seventh place. Nevezis at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Juventus are looking forward to face higher ranked Zalgiris (#5) in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play on the road against Siauliai and is hoping to win this game.
