Regular Season Round 7: Tonybet - LSU-Atletas 85-83

Seventh-ranked LSU-Atletas (2-5) gave a tough game to first ranked Tonybet (7-1) in Prienai. Tonybet managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-15 LSU-Atletas' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 85-83 at the end of the game. Tonybet forced 21 LSU-Atletas turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Gintaras Kadziulis (192-80) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 assists. Forward Arturas Valeika (207-85, college: Midland CC) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) came up with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Zygimantas Skucas (200-92) added 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for LSU-Atletas in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LSU-Atletas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tonybet maintains first place with 7-1 record. LSU-Atletas at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Tonybet will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. LSU-Atletas will play at home against Dzukija (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
