Regular Season Round 8: Timisoara - Craiova 81-53

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Craiova (1-7) was crushed on the road by tenth ranked Timisoara (3-4) 81-53 on Saturday. The game without a history. Timisoara led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Craiova's 20. Timisoara forced 28 Craiova turnovers and outrebounded them 51-20 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian guard Biljana Pesovic (180-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Adina Stoiedin (186-91) who added 18 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Timisoara players scored in double figures. Swingman Irina Bors (178-88) responded with 18 points and forward Janina Simionca (176-84) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Timisoara moved-up to ninth place. Craiova lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Timisoara will meet higher ranked Alexandria (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Craiova will play against the league's second-placed Alba Iulia (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
