Important game to mention about took place in Istanbul. Sixth ranked Ankara DSI Era (5-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 15th ranked Istanbul DSI (2-6) 70-68 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Istanbul DSI. Istanbul DSI was trailing by 13 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-17 charge of Ankara DSI Era, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Istanbul DSI was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Ali Guney BA) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Mustafa Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) chipped in 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Ankara DSI Era players scored in double figures. Guard Barkin Haluk Cinar (193-83) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall, agency: Two Points) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Istanbul DSI's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ankara DSI Era moved-up to fifth place. Istanbul DSI at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixteenth position with six games lost. Ankara DSI Era will face league's leader Darussafaka in Istanbul in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Istanbul DSI will play on the road against Maliye Milli (#18) in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
