Regular Season Round 12: Nafta Univers. - Vilnius-MRU 71-82

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Vilnius-MRU (5-6) beat 12th ranked Nafta Univers. (3-8) in Klaipeda 82-71 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The winners were led by forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Tadas Padegimas (203-90) supported him with 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Vilnius-MRU players scored in double figures. Vilnius-MRU's coach Mindaugas Sakalauskas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by forward Antanas Montrimavicius (199-87) did not help to save the game for Nafta Univers.. point guard Dominikas Matutis (180-91) added 17 points and 7 assists. Vilnius-MRU moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Zalgiris II. Loser Nafta Univers. keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with Palanga. Vilnius-MRU will meet at home higher ranked Delikatesas (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nafta Univers. will play against Suduva-Mantinga (#11) in Marijampole and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
