Regular Season Round 8: Antalya - Vestel 96-87

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Vestel (4-4) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Antalya (4-4) 96-87 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-17. But Vestel won second period 29-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Henry Antwan Dobie (183-78, college: LIU Brooklyn) who scored 20 points and 7 assists. The other American import forward Damien Kinloch (203-80, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Vestel's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Antalya moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Vestel. Antalya will face Buyukcekmece (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
