Regular Season Round 10: NBC - Bayer Giants 90-63

Bottom-ranked Bayer Giants (0-9) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to tenth ranked NBC (4-5) 90-63 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by NBC. Bayer Giants managed to win fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. NBC dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Bayer Giants' 18 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Bayer Giants 49-31 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. NBC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Bayer Giants' players. Forward Michael Fleischmann (205-86) fired 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Cornelius Adler (195-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Five NBC players scored in double figures. NBC's coach Benjamin Travnizek felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Tony Watson II (188-90, college: Buffalo, agency: SDJ Sports) produced 20 points and 5 assists and Goetz Twiehoff (198-85) added 5 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. NBC maintains tenth position with 4-5 record, which they share with ETB Wohnbau. Newly promoted Bayer Giants still closes the standings with nine games lost. NBC will meet Cuxhaven BasCats (#14) on the road in the next round. Bayer Giants will play against BG Karlsruhe and hope to get finally their first victory.
