Date: November 16, 2013
DBBL top team - TSV 1880 Wasserburg (7-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Osnabruck (4-4) 92-66. The game without a history. TSV 1880 Wasserburg outrebounded Osnabruck 44-32 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by American Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and Finnish forward Tiina Sten (188-85, college: St.John's, agency: Regeneracom Sports) supported her with 17 points. TSV 1880 Wasserburg's coach Bastian Wernthaler felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 11 points and 9 rebounds by Jessica Hootmann (190-85) did not help to save the game for Osnabruck. American swingman Kendall Rodriguez (183-91, college: Pacific) added 12 points and 4 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record. Osnabruck at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. TSV 1880 Wasserburg will play against Donau-Ries (#10) in Noerdlingen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Osnabruck will play at home against the league's second-placed SV Halle Lions (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
