Regular Season Round 5: Elizabeth-Basket - Tim-Scuf 105-75

Bottom-ranked Tim-Scuf (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 105-75 loss to second ranked Elizabeth-Basket (3-1) in Kirovograd. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game without a history. Elizabeth-Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tim-Scuf's 36 and had 30 for 44 from the free-throw line, while Tim-Scuf only scored twelve points from the stripe. Elizabeth-Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Tim-Scuf's players. 32 personal fouls committed by Tim-Scuf helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) nailed a triple-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and American forward Kerri Gardin (186-84, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Regeneracom Sports) accounted for 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Center Miriam Uro-Nilie (190-94) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Yuliya Berezinets (182-90) added 20 points respectively for Tim-Scuf in the defeat. Five Elizabeth-Basket and four Tim-Scuf players scored in double figures. Tim-Scuf's coach Inna Kochubei gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Elizabeth-Basket maintains second place with 3-1 record having five points less than leader Dynamo. Tim-Scuf lost their fourth game in a row. They still closes the standings with four games lost. Elizabeth-Basket's next round opponent will be Astana Tigers (#4). Tim-Scuf's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kyiv Dynamo.
