Seventh-ranked Horsens IC (2-7) was very close to win a game against second ranked Svendborg (8-1) on Thursday. Svendborg managed to secure only one-point victory 79-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Horsens IC was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a good game for American point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) who saved his team from a defeat with 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists. The other American import center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Skyler Bowlin (190-89, college: Missouri So.) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 assists and 7 steals and international center Jonas Zohore Bergstedt (210-91) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Horsens IC. Four Horsens IC players scored in double figures. Svendborg have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-1 record having just -1 point less than leader Bakken. Horsens IC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
