Regular Season Round 7: Halychyna - BC Donetsk 61-89

Undefeated leader BC Donetsk delivered the seventh consecutive victory on Friday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Halychyna (3-4) 89-61 in Lviv. The game without a history. BC Donetsk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for international power forward Maxym Korniyenko (204-87, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). American guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) helped adding 13 points and 8 assists. Five BC Donetsk players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Oleksandr Kolchenko (194-88, agency: Beo Basket) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for BC Donetsk. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Halychyna lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. BC Donetsk will meet Budivelnyk (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Halychyna will play against Ferro-ZNTU in Zaporozhye and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
