Regular Season Round 10: EWE Baskets - Vechta 87-74

Not a big story in a game in Oldenburg where 16th ranked SC Rasta Vechta (2-8) was defeated by second ranked EWE Baskets (8-1) 87-74 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. EWE Baskets made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American point guard Dru Joyce (183-85, college: Akron, agency: LUMANI 10.7) scored 14 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Italian center Andrea Crosariol (210-84, college: Fair Dickinson) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international center Dirk Madrich (212-83, agency: Court Side) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. EWE Baskets have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-1 record behind leader B.Muenchen. SC Rasta Vechta lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth place with eight games lost. EWE Baskets will face Brose Bask. (#3) in Bamberg in the next round, which may be the game of the day. SC Rasta Vechta will play at home against BBC Bayreuth (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
