Regular Season Round 9: Concordia - Craiova 67-93

Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Craiova (5-4) rolled over 12th ranked Concordia (1-8) in Chiajna 93-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Craiova. Concordia managed to win second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Craiova dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Concordia's 40. Craiova forced 22 Concordia turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Serbian forward Mirko Kovac (199-83, agency: Interperformances) nailed 18 points, 5 assists and 7 steals for the winning side and the former international forward Andrei Capusan (204-83, college: Lafayette, agency: Court Side) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Craiova players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Aleksandar Vuletic (202-86, college: Indian Hills CC) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian guard Nemanja Petrovic (192-90) added 24 points and 5 assists respectively for Concordia in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Craiova moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Steaua CSM. Newly promoted Concordia keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with Timba Timis.. Craiova will meet Gaz Metan (#11) in the next round. Concordia will play against Farul Const. in Constanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
