Regular Season Round 9: Ankara DSI Era - Darussafaka 89-81

TB2L round 9 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Darussafaka (7-2) against fifth ranked Ankara DSI Era (6-3) 89-81 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Darussafaka. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Darussafaka won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ankara DSI Era shot 60.4 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 61.5 percentage. 27 personal fouls committed by Darussafaka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American point guard Lamar Karim (178-83, college: So.Poly State, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 4 steals. Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Ali Guney BA) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Ankara DSI Era players scored in double figures. American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) answered with 29 points and 7 assists and the other American import power forward Lawrence Roberts (206-82, college: Mississippi St.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Darussafaka. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ankara DSI Era moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Yesilgiresun. Darussafaka at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Balikesir who have the same record. Darussafaka will play next round against Maliye Milli trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Ankara DSI Era will try to continue on its current victory against seventeenth ranked Bandirma Kir. in Balikesir.
