Regular Season Round 14: Delikatesas - Silute 88-59

The most important game in the last round took place in Joniskis between third ranked Silute (9-4) and fifth ranked Delikatesas (9-4) on Saturday night. Silute was crushed by Delikatesas on the road 88-59. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Silute. The game was mostly controlled by Delikatesas. Silute managed to win third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Silute to just 7 points in second quarter. Delikatesas dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Silute's 16. Delikatesas forced 21 Silute turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Mantas Pukinskas (198-89) scored 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Rokas Cepanonis (206-89) chipped in 26 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) during the contest. Five Delikatesas players scored in double figures. Swingman Deividas Pukis (196-92, college: High School) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Evaldas Saulys (196-93) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Delikatesas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Silute. Delikatesas is looking forward to face Olimpas (#14) in Plunge in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Silute will play on the road against the league's second-placed TiuMenas-Ezer. (#2) in Moletai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
