Regular Season Round 11: Crailsheim - ETB Wohnbau 81-95

We should mention about the upset which took place in Crailsheim, where higher ranked Crailsheim Merlins (6-4) lost at home to eleventh ranked ETB Wohnbau (5-5) 81-95 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-81. ETB Wohnbau outrebounded Crailsheim Merlins 31-17 including 19 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized Croatian guard Marco Buljevic (196-87, agency: Court Side) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. Cuban swingman Yorman Polas (192-85) produced 18 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and American swingman Josten Crow (193-87, college: Sam Houston St.) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. ETB Wohnbau moved-up to tenth place, which they share with NBC. Loser Crailsheim Merlins dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. ETB Wohnbau will face BG Karlsruhe (#15) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Crailsheim Merlins will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
