There was a minor upset in Klaipeda where 10th ranked Zanavykas (5-8) was defeated by twelfth ranked Nafta Univers. (4-9) 85-72. The game was mostly controlled by Nafta Univers.. Zanavykas was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nafta Univers. made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Zanavykas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman Tadas Mazelis (195-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Haroldas Venskus (180-91) contributed with 7 points and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) replied with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Paulius Abramavicius (204-86) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Zanavykas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nafta Univers. maintains twelfth position with 4-9 record, which they share with Palanga. Zanavykas lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with eight games lost. Nafta Univers.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Triobet (#7) in Jonava and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
