Regular Season Round 7: Selcuk Univ. - Galatasaray 69-91
Date: November 23, 2013
Everything could happen in Konya at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Galatasaray and 9th ranked Selcuk Universitesi had identical 3-3 record. But Selcuk Universitesi was not able to use a home court advantage and was rolled over by the opponent from Istanbul 91-69. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Selcuk Universitesi was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Selcuk Universitesi 38-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Serbian Zoran Erceg (210-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. International point guard Ender Arslan (190-83) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Galatasaray players scored in double figures. American guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) answered with 15 points and 7 assists and Lithuanian guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82) added 18 points in the effort for Selcuk Universitesi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains seventh place with 4-3 record, which they share with Tofas. Newly promoted Selcuk Universitesi keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Galatasaray's next round opponent will be higher ranked Royal Hali in Gaziantep. Selcuk Universitesi will play on the road against the league's second-placed Fenerbahce Ulker (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
