Regular Season Round 9: Alexandria - Timisoara 60-44

Very expected game when 9th ranked Timisoara (3-5) lost on the road to third ranked Alexandria (8-1) 60-44. The game was mostly controlled by Alexandria. Timisoara was better in fourth quarter 13-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alexandria forced 31 Timisoara turnovers. The former international forward Georgiana Rus (189-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks for the winners and American forward Tricia Principe (174) chipped in 22 points. The best for the losing side was Serbian guard Biljana Pesovic (180-83) with 17 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Adina Stoiedin (186-91) scored 5 points and 11 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Alexandria. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Alba Iulia. Timisoara at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Alexandria will play against league's second-placed Alba Iulia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Timisoara will play against Satu Mare (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
