There was a minor upset in Langen where 4th placed Rhein Main Baskets (5-4) were defeated by seventh ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (5-4) 65-60 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 20-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. International forward Finja Schaake (179-92) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American guard Tonisha Baker (173-90, college: Campbell) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Alyssa Karel (172-89, college: Wisconsin) with 20 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Denise Beliveau (180-89, college: New Hampshire) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for BC Pharmaserv Marburg. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Herner and Rhein MB. Rhein Main Baskets lost their fourth game in a row. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will meet at home Osnabruck (#8) in the next round. Rhein Main Baskets will play against Herner TC (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
