Regular Season Round 7: Aliaga - Usak 68-70

A very close game took place in Aliaga between Usak and Aliaga. Sixth ranked Usak (5-2) got a very close victory on the road over 14th ranked Aliaga (1-6). Usak managed to escape with a 2-point win 70-68 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. Usak forced 19 Aliaga turnovers and had a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Usak players scored in double figures. Usak's coach Ozan Bulkaz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll.) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Usak moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Aliaga keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Trabzonspor and Mersin. Usak will meet at home Tofas (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Aliaga will play against TED Kolejliler (#6) in Ankara and hope to win that game.
