Leader TSV 1880 Wasserburg delivered the eighth win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Donau-Ries (3-6) 97-64 in Noerdlingen. The game without a history. TSV 1880 Wasserburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for TSV 1880 Wasserburg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) chipped in 13 points. Four TSV 1880 Wasserburg players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Morgan Henderson (185-88, college: San Diego) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Vanessa House (170-88, college: W.Virginia) added 10 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TSV 1880 Wasserburg (8-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Donau-Ries lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Oberhausen and Freiburg. TSV 1880 Wasserburg are looking forward to face TV Saarlouis Royals (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Donau-Ries will play against the league's second-placed SV Halle Lions and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
