Regular Season Round 9: SISU - Stevnsgade 77-71

Date: November 24, 2013
An interesting game for SISU (9-0) which hosted in Copenhagen 4th placed Stevnsgade (6-3). Leader SISU managed to get a 6-point victory 77-71. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-18. But Stevnsgade won second period 18-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SISU forced 24 Stevnsgade turnovers. Strangely Stevnsgade outrebounded SISU 40-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Kiki Lund (177-83, college: Dayton) stepped up and scored 13 points and 8 assists for the winners and American guard Heidi Anton (175, college: USF) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four SISU players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Julie Forster (183-91, college: Albany) with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Sarah Eichler (180-91, college: Green Bay) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SISU have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-0 record. Newly promoted Stevnsgade keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Lemvig. SISU will play against Horsens (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stevnsgade will play against Aabyhoj (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
