Regular Season Round 7: Anadolu Efes - Olin Edirne 95-79

Very expected game in Istanbul where 9th ranked Olin Edirne (3-4) was defeated by fifth ranked Anadolu Efes (5-2) 95-79. The game was mostly controlled by Anadolu Efes. Olin Edirne was better in second period 29-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Olin Edirne's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American Jamon Lukas Gordon (191-84, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Baris Guney (193-83, agency: 1x1 Sports) answered with 17 points and 4 assists and American center Torin Francis (210-83, college: Notre Dame) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Olin Edirne. Four Anadolu Efes and five Olin Edirne players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Anadolu Efes. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Olin Edirne at the other side keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Anadolu Efes' next round opponent will be Mersin (#15) in Akdeniz which should be an easy win for them. Olin Edirne will play at home against Besiktas (#12) and hope to win that game.
