Regular Season Round 9: Zalgiris - Lietkabelis 101-60

The game between third ranked Zalgiris (6-1) and 11th ranked Lietkabelis (2-8) in Kaunas on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Zalgiris outscored guests from Panevezys 101-60. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for the former international center Ksistof Lavrinovic (209-79) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. The former international forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 10 points for the winners. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Zalgiris' coach Saulius Stombergas felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Darius Griskenas (196-84) answered with 15 points and Nigerian forward Chukwudinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., agency: N.E.T.) added 15 points in the effort for Lietkabelis. Zalgiris have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Loser Lietkabelis stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Zalgiris will face league's leader Tonybet in Prienai in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lietkabelis will play at home against Nevezis (#3) and hope to win that game.
