Regular Season Round 8: BC Kyiv - Hoverla 81-88

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Hoverla (5-3) defeated on the road 11th ranked BC Kyiv (3-6) 88-81 on Monday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-13. But BC Kyiv won third quarter 23-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded BC Kyiv 38-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. Hoverla looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Andre Young (175-90, college: Clemson) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import point guard Eugene Lawrence (184-86, college: St.John's, agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Four Hoverla players scored in double figures. International forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) produced 23 points and 6 assists and American forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) added 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hoverla moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser BC Kyiv dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
