Regular Season Round 7: Kirovograd - BK Donetsk-2 125-71

The game in Kirov supposed to be also quite interesting. 6th ranked BK Donetsk-2 (4-2) played at the court of seventh ranked Kirovograd (5-1). Kirovograd smashed BK Donetsk-2 125-71 on Wednesday. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Kirovograd dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to BK Donetsk-2's 42. They outrebounded BK Donetsk-2 46-27 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kirovograd looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by BK Donetsk-2's players. American forward Quintrell Thomas (203-90, college: UNLV, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import point guard DeAndre Mays (188-87, college: Youngstown St., agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 22 points, 9 assists and 5 steals (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Five Kirovograd players scored in double figures. Guard Oleksiy Chuprina (186-94) produced 19 points and point guard Igor Boyarkin (185-95) added 11 points, 6 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. BK Donetsk-2's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Kirovograd moved-up to second place, which they share with Avangard. Newly promoted BK Donetsk-2 dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Kirovograd will again meet at home BK Donetsk-2 (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. BK Donetsk-2 will have a break next round.
